About this month

What every family should know about Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month and the month in which the Quran was first revealed. Fasting from dawn to sunset is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Its last ten nights contain Laylatul Qadr — a night better than a thousand months. Families should aim to complete at least one full recitation of the Quran together.
